Well on the web there are millions of the recipes for Carrot Pudding(Gajar Ka Halwa). A ton of variation. Well, today in the morning I had this very bad craving of Gajar Ka Halwa So I decide to cook some.
As I was cooking it I thought to post about it!
I have worked with very few ingredients in this, just to make it simple and low in calories also.
In the original recipe, it also has ghee (clarified butter) and condensed milk. But I have modified it a bit.
Ingredients:-
- 1/2 kg Carrots
- 1/2 litre Full-Fat Milk
- 1 tsp freshly ground cardamom powder
- 120 g Sugar
- Almond and cashews For garnishing
Steps:
- Wash the carrot and peel them.
- Grate the carrot to medium thickness.
- Add the carrots and milk in a heavy bottom pan and cook on low heat until all the milk is absorbed.
- Add sugar and cardamom power and cook for another 10 - 15 minutes.
- Keep stirring in between.
- Garnish with almond and cashews
- Serve warm!!!
